The Samsung Galaxy

Samsung is releasing what I think is the biggest step in smart phones in a long time. The Note Edge is a Note 4 with a small strip of curved screen running down the side.

The screen contains your recent apps and can show twitter feed. It will show the amount of steps you have taken using S Health and all sorts of other things as developers get a hold of it.

I think that the screen will kinda get in the at of the way most people use a phone such as the Note. It takes two hands and when your typing you done wanna have wrap your hand around that screen and hope you don't touch it. I have enough trouble reaching something at the top of my S5 and not touching something with another part of my hand.

What do you guys think. Will it be a good selling innovative idea or will it do OK or will it tank. Leave a comment below.

My Swap from iPhone to Android

I was nervous for the swap.  I didn't know if I would miss my old phone.  A month has gone by and I can honestly say that I don't miss it at all.

I had my iPhone 5 for the 2 years of my contract and I loved it.  It was my home for all of my information and all of my media consumption. I had all of my data backed up to my Mac and my iPad and I could not imagine not having everything on all my devices.

I went into the AT&T store and wasn't sure what I was going to get when I got there.  I had thought about waiting and seeing if I wanted the iPhone 6 plus (so glad I didn't.).  I began by looking at the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.  I liked the large screen size but my thoughts soon went to would I want to have that everyday.  Would that really be nice a month later having to carry it in my pocket to my job.  I decided to look at the smaller screen of the Samsung Galaxy S5.  I loved the size of the screen it made the iPhone in my hand feel small but didn't feel so big that I would struggle to use it one handed.  I decided to go with the S5.

I got home and did all the normal stuff that you do with a new phone.  Sign into Twitter and all of my other social media accounts and then I started digging into the Google Play Store.  I had not had any interaction with Android in two years and I was a little concerned I would be lost.  I was wrong.  I got right back into it found that everything that I used on my iPhone was right there for use on my new phone.

The days went on and I still liked to use my iPad to watch videos and consume media because I was used to it.  But as I got more used to my phone I began to get away from my iPad.  My biggest concern at the time was battery life watching videos and reading articles for hours a day. This fear is gone now.  I don't ever worry about my battery life anymore like I did on my iPhone.  I get a full days use with no issues at all.  I don't even use my iPad anymore because I have become so used to using my phone for everything.

In conclusion for me the switch was a much needed change.  I wouldn't go to iPhone right now if you dropped one in my lap.

Rising Star

I just started watching the new show Rising Star and I love the way that they incorporate technology into the show.  I think that this is the future of television. I feel like if you get the audience that incorporated into the show you are always going to have a good show.
I have a question for everyone. Does anyone have the Galaxy S5 Active.  I am looking at getting it when I upgrade.  I don't have a lot more today.

iPhone 6 photo

So this photo just got released. Me and my aunt were talking about the new sizes of the iPhone and I just have to ask what does everyone else think? I think it is time for the iPhone to get bigger like the rest of the phones on the market. She thinks that they should keep it the same size. I don't know I just think that the line between phones and tablets is getting more and more blurred and it's just a matter of time before they have no choice. There will always be the people who don't want a bigger phone but I don't think that is the majority of people. What do yal think?

Random thoughts for the night.

I know this is a tech blog and what not and my thoughts do have to do with tech, kinda. I really want to know why people pick one brand of electronic and stick to it and no matter how good the other brands out there could be they only have positive things to say about the brand that they have or like. I myself was one of this people for some time. I only liked apple I wouldn't give any other company the light of day. But that has changed over the years. I have realized that only sticking to one brand makes you miss out on some of the best things about the advancements in technology. For example, the newest samsung phones have come out and they are water resistant and have a heart monitor. Which we all know that the iPhone 6 is supposedly going to have a heart monitor and all that other health related stuff but samsung already has it. To me it seems like iPhone in General is always a year behind everyone. Don't get me wrong that is a good thing sometimes because they get to see what the market does with that idea. Like the lg flex. The curved screen didn't take off like they thought it would and I am glad that apple didn't jump on the band wagon and make a flexed iPhone.

That's my rant for the night have a good one.

Apple Rumors

With all the rumors going around the apple workd today,it is hard to decide what is true and what is not. For starters in some of today's rumors, the China Times states that apple will change the number of back lights from two to one to cut down on bulk. This may cause some supply issues since the supplier that they currently use to get the backlights has trouble with one.
Another rumor that is more of a question than a rumor is will the iphone 6 have a glass or sapphire back. I personal hope it is sapphire because I just like the idea of that.

All this rumors could be nothing or some could be true. Let me know what you all think in the comments. Thank you for reading and as always goodnight.

My Gaming Info

Since i write a gaming and tech info blog I want to share my gaming information with my readers that way I can interact and get to know my audience.

I have really gotten into P.C gaming recently so if anyone wants to play with me on there according to what we are going to play my usernames will be different.  Just for a example of what I play on the P.C I play Minecraft, TF2, Dota 2, LOL, GMod.

I also am a console gamer and i have a xbox 360.  My gamer tag is Huntla21 and I will do my best to accept friend request.  I play Battlefield 4 and GTA V on my xbox and that is about it.  I have some other games but I do not play them a lot.  Like I said I have really gone away from console gaming for a few reasons.

My basic reason is that I don't want to buy a new console when I have a PC that can run the games that I wish to play.  Another reason is that I have found out over the past few months that the longevity of game play on PC games seems to me to be better.  Take TF2 for example,  that game has been out for a long time and anytime I get on I can jump straight into a game without any problem.  Some games that come out on console may keep a decent fan base for a month and then when you get it on its like a ghost town full of little kids complaining about the other little kids in the match.  Not that I have anything against kids playing games but.  I know that I am kinda ranting at the moment but in my mind this is how I see console gaming.  I also see console gaming burning out.  With services such as Steam and Origin making it easier and most of the time more affordable for gamers to get the games they want to play without having to go wait in line or walk all the way to the back of Walmart to the game section to by them.  They can just sit down at their desk and hit purchase and the download will begin.  The major thing that most people I know that play console games complain about with PC gaming is that they don't want to have to use a keyboard and Steam say that issue and has done a great job to resolve it.  With the ability to play a lot of games on Steam with a Xbox 360 controller it makes it where the people who may not want to use a keyboard all the time can still enjoy the fun of PC Gaming.

I know that this wasn't really news to say but I felt like for the people who read this that this was a way for me to get to know you a little better and to express my views and opinions on the matter that was going through my head.

Apple News 06/28/2014

iPod Touch.
Apple has decided to finally drop the price of the iPod touch.  You can get the newest iPod touch in 16 Gb for $199, 32 Gb for $50 more and the 64 Gb for $100 dollars more.  The newest model of the iPod touch comes in multiple colors just as the iPhone 5c and it has a rather decent camera to go along with the new color options.

Apple also plans to get rid of iPhoto and Aperture in exchange for the new program Photos OS X. For those worried about losing all of your photos from Aperture do not fear.  You will be able to transfer all of your photos from there to the new app.  It will roll out later this year with the release of OS X Yosemite.

In other Apple related news.  On top of the already known iPhone 6 and iWatch rumors there is also the rumor of the iPad Air 2.

Youtube and Gaming

Today Youtube released a statement with details on new features for channels that release game content.  This is a great step forward by the company because in the past they have not shown the interest in the gaming community as much as they have say the music industry or movie companies.

The first major feature that will be coming to the community is the ability to post gameplay footage at 60 FPS(frames per second).  This is a great feature to add onto Youtube because at the moment all Youtube videos are limited to 30 FPS which is the normal amount for content such as movies and all other camera captured media but for gaming this doesn't cut it.  Games are run in full HD at 60 FPS so when you capture the footage and post it to youtube it only shows up in 30.  With this new feature you will be able to view the content as it is intended to be viewed.

The second feature of this update is the Tip Jar.   It is similar to donating to a user on Twitch.  You give the creator of the content money for entertaining you.  Youtube will take 5% of the money brought in and $0.21 for every transaction.  This will be ok as long as your viewers enjoy dropping larger amounts of money in the jar.

I see this features as a great step forward by Youtube to show support for its gaming community that has grown very large over the past years.  For more information about the features go to this link(.http://thenextweb.com/google/2014/06/27/youtube-unveils-a-new-studio-app-for-creators-lets-fans-contribute-funding-and-subtitles/)
